Glad to hear back on Saturday night while she called me whether I had a time to talk, while I said yes, she was so excited to tell me: Nicole, I got the offer- Business analyst. Haha, I nearly jumped while I heard this great news

Yes, Linlin had a few dramas through this interview before she got this job offer. Finally she got it. Congratulations, I am so glad to share this happiness with you. Business analyst- Such a high position, even though it is not surprised me anymore as some of my students got accounts manager job offer before after my four topics, of course most of my students got accountant , accounts all round, assistant accountant job offer.
Why did so many students in my class who are able to approach such a high position? Yes, you guy's great effort is very important for your job hunting, also , Yes, I do believe my training class make the difference for you guys:
My training class starts from how to set up a company from accounts view, them stand on the financial report to look down all the accounts and back to financial report to analysis the financial reports, so after four classes, all of my students are very confident to deal with all the accounts issues, but also are very confident to analysis the financial reports, Yes, just through four classes training, we did reach that high level. Many of my students successful stories have been approved for that, I am so proud of this great teaching structure which not only save my students’s time and also benefit them forever. Brilliant

刚刚和Nicole通完电话, 我到现在都不能相信自己真的拿到了Business Analyst的offer. Nicole在电话里显得比我还要高兴, 因为我知道她真的是在用心教和关心着我们这些学生. 我自己心里现在感慨万千, 甚至有些语无伦次了.
首先我先要感谢长久以来对我的关心和支持, 尤其是在我失落和绝望的时候, 是Nicole给了我温暖和鼓励, 让我不折不挠. 自己是今年二月来上Nicole的班的, 然后当了三月的Tutor. 在上完第一节课的时候, 就觉得如果自己如果可以早一点遇到Nicole就好了, 这样自己就可少走很多弯路.
在当完tutor后的两个多月后, 在很意外的情况下接到了Nicole的电话来询问我的情况, 自己当下就觉得很感动, Nicole并不是说上完课就忘记你了. 当时我还是很苦闷的, 因为其实投简历自己从来没有懈怠过, 始终没有任何面试的机会. 在听了她的建议后自己投简历由被动变为主动, 果然在大约一个多月后自己终于有了第一次的面试机会. 原本以为我需要的就是一个面试的机会, 当然这在我几个面试失败后被证明并不时这么简单的, 我真的要明白what the employer really wants. 在近一年的跌跌碰碰的找工作历程中, 自己有几点想和大家分享, 不一定是正确的, 只希望可以对大家以后找工作可以有些借鉴之处.
1 就像Nicole对我说的要变被动为主动. 大家都知道如果你在job board上找工作的话, 一个job ad可以有上百个的applicants. 无论是agent还是company都不可能go through每一份简历的. 我的做法是在ad发出来后尽快投简历, 如果ad有注明联系人的话, 那最好给那个人也发一份.
2 明白你所投的职位, 也就是what the employer wants. 就说我自己好了, 在我面试一个accounts clerk的时候, accountant问我五年的打算是什么, 当时自己还傻傻的, 说什么可能会考虑考CPA, 结果就很明显. 在之后和Nicole打电话, 她笑道说她也不会hire我的.
3 相信自己. 的确找工作的心情就像roller coaster. 当然我也怀疑过我自己, 但是我从来没有放弃过, 我始终相信我总会找到的. 还有Nicole对我的鼓励, 尤其在我上次面试大惨败后(Nicole你还记得吗, 当时你说不用灰心, 这说明还有更好的工作机会在等着我, 果不其然).
4 给Nicole及时地反馈(这说明我时不时在骚扰她~). 我自己是觉得这是得到反馈的好途径, 因为面试时的回答面试官并不会让你知道他满不满意你的回答. 我会把自己面试时不确定的回答告诉Nicole, 自己便知道不足的地方还可以加强.
最后有人可能会说我这个job和Nicole上课的内容并没有很大的关系. 我想说的是没有上过Nicole的课我是肯定不会拿到这个offer的. 虽然这个工作不会有MYOB的任何操作, 但是它将会要求我要站在report的角度上看问题. 而Nicole的课是由浅至深的覆盖了commercial accounting的方方面面(尤其是精华的report部分), 给我打下了很好的基础. 其次给我面试的是一个很资深的CPA, 他问了我好几个问题, 而我的回答他都比较满意, 而这些有关accounting的问题Nicole在上课时其实都讲到过的.

This is Lin Lin from the Sunday class.
I started the course accidentally. Of course, I had doubts and uncertainty in the beginning. However, I was 100% convinced after the first six-hour class. Nicole, I believe, does dedicate herself into the training course. Beside that everyone keeps mentioning that her class is comprehensive from all the basic aspects of the commercial accounting practice, whcich I totally agree.
I have to say that I am really touched by her enthusiasm and thoughfulness. I received a call from Nicole after the second class regarding my feedback on the class and we discussed a little about my personal situation. Surely, 'Practice makes perfect', Nicole does consider students' feedback to optimise her class (This is also why I think there is a new version of the course). Moreover, she gave me encouragement. I normally consider myself to be confdent, however, it is undoubted that I feel a bit frustrated about my job seeking progress.
Being pathetic does not help anyone. It is only when you believe yourself, then others would beleive you.

我是Feb周日班的Lin. 终于上个星期天上完了Nicole的四堂课了. 一个月的时间真的是过得很快, 不过相对地, 在这短短一个月里自己学到的东西却比原本想象要多得多. 总之要谢谢Nicole对我们的付出. 在这一个月的学习中, 自己真的是感慨颇多.
与其简单地机械化地教授MYOB的data输入,Nicole更加鼓励我们要去先思考自己输入信息的目的所在和其所涉及到的journal entry. 只有在理解的基础上, 才会避免一些无谓的错误. 就算有错误发生时,也就更容易发现和解决. 同时这对于我们在大学课堂里所学的知识得到了温习和巩固.
在每节课后都会有对应教学内容的作业. 这对于消化和熟悉Nicole上课时所讲的内容很有帮助.因为每节课的时间都在6个小时以上, 可见Nicole上课时覆盖的信息量之大. 所以自己在上课的时候有些地方并没有吃透. 这就在做作业的过程中,会也发现自己上课时没有掌握的知识点.这时就可以通过和tutor讨论, 来解决没有理解的地方. 在讨论之后, 自己对这些知识点也就记得更清楚了. 还有就是我很喜欢我们这个班的一个原因, 就是在上课之前, 大家也会讨论一下前一周作业的自己有什么问题. 自己也可以检查一下别人犯的错误自己犯了没有, 而自己的问题也和别人分享一下. 这就是所谓的共同提高,共同进步吧~
除了教授软件的操作, Nicole还考虑到了我们的实际情况. 由于我们多数没有在澳洲的工作经验, Nicole会在将每个topic的同时穿插一些写简历和interview时候应该注意的地方. 我想这对于我们再找一份工作的时候是很有帮助的.
PS. Nicole, 如果3月的tutor还有空位的话, 我可以申请吗? 因为自己也听了好几个tutor说再听Nicole第二遍课的时侯感觉真的不一样了~同时自己也希望可以和3月的同学共同进步. 原帖由 zarleenalin 于 2009-3-23 22:28 发表

现在自己作为三月周末班的tutor, 已经上了三次课了, 真的很感谢Nicole给我这个机会. 在上完第一节课的时候, 自己其实明显的感觉到当tutor和当初自己在学习的时候得不同. 与当初手忙脚乱急着操作MYOB还要跟上Nicole飞也似的讲课速度, 自己并没有更多的空隙去想其他的. 而现在作为tutor, 我不用再看着电脑, 因为其实要掌握操作还是相对比较简单的, 只要自己在家里多练习我觉得就没有什么问题的. 我上课的时候就更加focus在之前有疑问或者不清楚的地方还有就是accounts怎么设立怎么去link的方面, 因为我觉得只有当你理解了, 才算是自己真正掌握了吧, 这时才会觉得Nicole讲的东西makes perfect sense.
再来说说我当tutor的感想. 看着现在的同学们在学习的过程中犯着自己当初一样的错误, 在纠正同学的错误的同时这其实也是对自己的一种提醒, 自己在操作的时候要注意. 还有就是每个星期Nicole给大家的作业其实我自己回家也会再做一遍, 看看当初犯的错误现在犯了没有. 当然通过练习, 自己也觉得现在的速度比第一次的时候要快很多了.
最后谢谢Nicole给我改了简历, 我还没有正式开始找工作,因为这几个星期在忙于搬家. 希望自己还有现在在找工作的都good luck吧~
