首先简单介绍一下，这个课程叫做 Bridging Course for Overseas Accountants 仅在Sydney Institute 的Randwick College 开课。它是a course under the Language, Literacy & Numeracy Program(LLNP). 顾名思义，它是一门专门为海外会计专门开设的课程，主要课程包括：Income Tax Law；Company Law；Commercial Law；Office Tax Procedures; Computer Accounting（MYOB）；Integrated Language Skills; Job Seeking Skills 等，还有Tax Law Applications 和 Internal Control等选修课程。这些可都是我们这些海外会计很难在来澳洲之前就学到的科目啊，而且都极具实用性，cool。学期是2 Semesters Full Time (22weeks)，可获得 Advanced Diploma。并且，最关键的是只要满足以下几个要求这个课程就是免费的！：(Centrelink会为你支付学费)
-Intermediate English；
-Overseas Qualification in Accounting；
-Registered as looking for employment with Centrelink
-LLNP Referral form SU515

接下来说说我的申请过程，以及是如何达到上述这几个要求的。

我是从一本叫TAFE Sydney Institute course guide 2006 的小册子上看到的，原本感兴趣的是另一个叫English & Accounting (Certificate III)的free course。但是相比而言本课程的Qualification 要高的多，并且有三门law的课程，优势不言而喻。
但是小册子上的内容非常简单，于是写Email去sydney.info@tafensw.edu.au 问，第二天就有回复，说是找Randwick College的Mr. Amir Salem. 毫不迟疑，马上电话询问detail information。得到的回复是必须要有Centrelink出具的Referral form SU515。
在第一次去Centrelink得到需要有TAFE出具的to Centrelink officer letter （其实就是一张写有名字、学校和课程名称的小纸条）和课程具体资料的要求后亲自去了趟Randwick，面会了一下这Mr. Salem，从这个蛮nice的先生那里拿了这些东西以及上面提到的关于该课程的具体资料。
去Centrelink Registered as looking for employment是我和老婆这次长登做的第一件事，当时Centrelink refer 我们去了一家叫Job Future 的找工机构，我们在那里注册了我们的资料和简历并拿到了Job Seeker ID number (JSID)，这就使我满足了Registered as looking for employment with Centrelink的这个条件。不过根据centrelink的规定在哪里注册的JSID，这个Referral Form就应该去那里出具。但奇怪的事情发生了，Job Future 的manager就是不给出referral，说他们没有那个level，这应该是centrelink的事情，并且告诉我通常要live in Australia more than 2 years才可以。这里要特别提醒各位PR朋友，这个course是under在Centrelink 的Language, Literacy & Numeracy Program (LLNP)下并由multicultural education 部门管理的课程，它不同于一般TAFE课程的refund程序，不需要住满2年，也不需要以收到centrelink的payment为免费前提。结果还是centrelink的工作人员帮我解决了问题。他们在为我重新录入了资料后立即向TAFE传真了我的referral form，接下来TAFE当天就通知我面试时间。
面试其实就是考察我是否达到Intermediate English。面试过程很简单，一个年过半百的女士问了我几个问题之后就算是通过了口语和听力，然后就是reading和writing。整个面试一共进行了一个多小时，顺利通过！至于Overseas Qualification in Accounting到现在还没人要求看过我的Qualification。
自此，从发现课程到通过面试，在差不多一个礼拜的时间里所有程序全部搞定！

最后谈谈我的体会，首先澳洲的教育制度相当不错，只要自己愿意学，新移民有许多的TAFE课程和免费课程都很不错。如果想省钱，去各地的TAFE information center 一定可以发现许多很实用免费课程，哈哈这是不是又是一个省钱秘笈呢？其次我决定澳洲的办事效率并不是传说中的那么慢，反而，我觉得他们蛮高效的勒！另外，我觉得这个课程作为centrelink 促进study and training 计划的一部分，应该会在每年或者每个semester 开课，应此希望我的经验对以后也有兴趣读这门课程的朋友有所帮助吧。

I would like to thank this Chinese writer of this article on the internet and share my experience of finding the Bridging Course for Overseas Accountant, because this article helped me to enrol in this course and I think this is a wonderful course for our overseas accountants who have just arrived in Australia and want to develop their accounting career in this wonderful country.

I arrived in Sydney at the beginning of July 2007 and hoped to find an accounting job. But I was very disappointed after a few weeks job searching, for I do not have local work experience. I decided to learn some local accounting knowledge while I kept looking for a job. Then I found this article.

I have studied this course for 2 weeks, so I would like to tell you some new information about it and the reason I think it is a good course for overseas accountants. It is a one year course, including two Semesters, i.e., two stages with 6 months each stage. The first stage includes Income Tax Law, Office Tax Procedures, Commercial Law, Computer Accounting（MYOB）；Financial Accounting and Reporting, English(which teaches us Integrated Language Skills; Job Seeking Skills).The second stage includes classes, such as Evaluate financial performance, Monitor corporate governance, Prepare financial reports for reporting entity, English and some other two elective subjects.

I think it is useful to help us find a local job. For example, most of Australia small and medium size companies are using MYOB, and many job advertisements require a good knowledge of MYOB. Moreover, it is hard for an overseas accountant to know how to fill in a tax return form and the detailed prescriptions of income tax laws in Australia. Luckily, they are all taught in this course and I believe it will contribute quite a lot to us in finding an accounting job. I also notice that many people who have lived and worked in Australia for many years are still studying these two subjects at TAFE, which are essential subjects for an accountant.

To my surprise, I met Amir Salem, a nice gentleman who was referred by the writer in the above article. I admire him very much because he has work for TAFE for more than 20 years and has received many awards for his great contributions. He not only helped me enrol in the course, but also instructed me on how to develop my accounting career in Australia.

In order to enrol in the course for free, you only require meeting the following three conditions:
-Intermediate English；(You must pass an English assessment of intermediate level)
-Overseas Qualification in Accounting；
-You must be a PR

I have written such a long reply because I have found only a few people know about this wonderful course. Most of my classmates got the information about this course from their friends, and I have not found a detailed introduction of this course from any other place.

08新移民读公立TAFE有何优惠吗？


我是今年5月拿到的pr，之前在澳洲读了一个diploma，现在想回去再念个短期的certificate,请问我这种情况有没有优惠的可能呢，因为有个朋友也是念这家TAFE,学费很便宜的。
