We are going to welcome the Olympic Torch in Canbera on this Thursday and then go further north to visit the Kosciuszko NP during the ANZ long weekend.

Time: Apr.24-27, 2008
Places to visit: Canbera and Kosciuszko NP
Activities: bush walking, camping, BBQ & climbing the highest Mt in Aussie (2228m)
People: 2pps(1girl & 1 boy), 2 cars, 1 tents

What we want: 2-4 pps, 1-2 tents
What do u MUST need: warm out-door clothes & shoes, a warm sleeping bag

Basic Rules: share all common bills, respect the team and easy going. Picky & Stingy are extremely not welcome.

   recognised as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve

-the highest mountains in Australia, the famous Snowy River
  -walks through alpine herbfields;spectacular caves and limestone gorges; scenic drives; and historic huts and   
   homesteads
  -its alpine and sub-alpine areas contain plantspecies found nowhere else in the world, also home to
   therare mountain pygmy possum and corroboree frog

Day 1 (Apr.24, Thur.)    Sydney-Canbera-Thredbo
0400            SYD to CAN, 300km, 3.5hrs
0800-1400    Olympic Torch, luch in Canbera
1400            CAN to Thredbo, 220km, 2.5hrs
                   Drive along the famous Alpine Way through bushfire-damaged forest
                   Sleeping: Thredbo YHA Lodge, $21/bed
                   Eating: cook in the YHA
                   PS: if have time, can visit the NPWS Education Centerin Sawpit Creek (25km from Jindabyne)

Day 2 (Apr.25, Fri., Anzac Day)  Bushing walking in Thredbo and the alpine area
                  Breakfast in YHA, picnic during the bushing walking
                  PS: if finish early, then drive to Yarrangobilly, 180km, 2.5hr, camping & BBQ
                        if finish late, then drive to Geehi, 55km, 1hr, camping & BBQ
                  Attractions: 1. Olsen, Scammell & Pilot Lookout
                                    2. Mt.Kosciuszko, 2228m, the highest Mt in Australia

Day 3 (Apr.26, Sat.)  Explore the Yarrangobilly Caves

                                Do some easy bushing walking around
                                Then drive to Kiandra, 30km, camping & BBQ

Day 4 (Apr.27, Sun)  Explore Kiandra & visit Lake Eucumbene, then all the way to SYD (480km, 5.5hrs)
                                We can enjoy a wonderful dinner together in town at the end of the trip.
